Building a welcoming community
I'll encourage opportunities for students to connect, especially those finding the transition to university challenging, so nobody feels left out.
Hi everyone! I'm Harmann, a first-year Chemical Engineering student standing to be your Wellbeing Representative. I want our department to be a place where everyone feels supported, included and heard.
University is about more than grades. I want to help build a welcoming community, make support easier to find and ensure wellbeing concerns reach the right people.
I'll encourage opportunities for students to connect, especially those finding the transition to university challenging, so nobody feels left out.
I'll raise awareness of Imperial's mental health, financial and wellbeing services, helping students understand where they can seek support.
I'll gather feedback on wellbeing concerns and raise issues with the appropriate staff and representatives, keeping you updated while respecting confidentiality.
As Charity Coordinator on my sixth-form Student Leadership Team, I helped organise fundraising events, including a charity football match and Culture Day, working with students and staff to bring people together.
Having moved to the UK from another country, I understand how challenging adapting to a new environment can be. These experiences taught me the importance of listening, teamwork and community.
